About Us

The Founder and President of Washington, D.C. Health Care Advocates is Melanie Gobourne. Melanie has worked in the healthcare industry for 25 years in basic and clinical research, sales, marketing and advocacy training. She earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. Melanie also earned the Certified Senior Advisor designation to further solidify her knowledge of the social, medical and financial well-being of the senior population.

Paul Gobourne, MSN, BC-FNP,  is full-time medical consultant of Washington, D.C. Healthcare Advocates. Paul has more than 20 years patient care experience as well as healthcare administration work. He began his career with the Army as a Medic. He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and his Masters of Science, Nurse Practitioner degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C.

We work with many other professionals and organizations including social workers, nurses, discharge planners, hospitals, Accountable Care Organizations (ACO), physicians and attorneys. This collaboration better enables us to help our clients.
